The inaugural Art Crawl Oct. 23 and 24 was officially pronounced a success by the Coast Cultural Alliance. Visitors travelled between 74 artist studios, Langdale to Powell River, browsing and shopping for local art and crafts. Some studios were filled to the brim, with up to 250 visitors over the weekend - crawlers absorbing the incredible quality and diversity of arts and culture in the community.
The Coast Cultural Alliance would like to thank all the participating studio/galleries for jumping on board. And a big shout out to the crawlers who visited these talented artists, picked up the map and brochures, collected stickers for the passports, and took home beautiful treasures. Organizers are grateful to the sponsors and advertisers, to the volunteers at the Art Crawl hubs passing out information and smiles, to the designers of the map, brochure and signs, to the technical, marketing and social media wizards, and to the CCA board of directors and other volunteers for generally helping get this show on the road. A second annual event may be in the works. Watch www.sunshinecoastartcrawl.com for updates.
