Angus Stuart's tour of Testament of A Naked Man: Good News According to Mark will make a timely stop at St. Hilda's By the Sea Anglican Church at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18 just in time for Easter.

The power of the Gospel story is brought to life in this one-man dramatization of the life and death of Jesus the Christ as told by Mark. Through this encounter, the audience is transported back in time to be with Jesus on the dusty roads of Palestine and on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Listeners will come away with a sense of not having ever heard these familiar stories before. Hearing the Gospel as a whole will enable us to be intellectually challenged and make connections in a new light.

Stuart, Rector of St. Francis-in-the-Wood in West Vancouver, began by telling the story of Christ's arrest, trial and crucifixion from memory on Palm Sunday in 2007. Then he was inspired to memorize the whole of Mark's Gospel, a gospel that is believed to be written to be heard in one seating.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for seniors and students reserved by calling 604-885-5019, via email [email protected] or purchased at the door. Proceeds from this event will support the awe-inspiring work of the Rev. Emilie Smith and the work of healing and reconciliation at Peace House in Santa Cruz delle Quiche, Guatemala.
