Nine galleries in Gibsons Landing are hosting an Art Stroll in the Landing to celebrate the range of visual art on show within walking distance in the picturesque harbour area.
The Art Stroll will be launched with a wine reception at Gibsons Public Art Gallery (GPAG) on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a one-off guided walking tour starting at at 4:30 p.m. with local photographer Alan Siruklnikoff to take in the other eight participating galleries.
A free brochure is available for self-guiding around the Art Stroll in the Landing. The brochure details each gallery's specialism and how to get from one to another. Visitors who have their brochures stamped at every participating gallery by the end of Aug. 21 are invited to enter a draw for an original painting by local artist Brian Romer entitled Gibsons from the Harbour. The galleries participating are Westwind Gallery and Framing, GPAG, Daffadowndilly Gallery, Landing Gallery, Gift of the Eagle Gallery, The Waltzing Whippet, Spirit of Place Gallery, Artworks Tours & Picture Framing and Sa Boothroyd Gallery. The brochures are available now at each of the galleries, Visitors Centres, Gibsons Marina and B&Bs along the Coast.
The painting, Gibsons from the Harbour, is on display at the Gift of the Eagle Gallery.
