The Sunshine Coast Arts Council has a full weekend on tap Aug. 15 and 16 with the 22nd annual Hackett Park summer arts and crafts fair.

The fair runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Sechelt.

More than 90 vendors and thousands of people will participate in one of British Columbia's largest juried arts and crafts shows. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and children under 12 free if accompanied by an adult.

Local musicians and performers will add their gifts to the atmosphere with entertainment running from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. both days. Some of the featured performers include the Coast String Fiddlers, Tin Fish, Knotty Dotters and Diana Halter. There will be bright August sun and shade from the cedars. Food vendors will be on hand providing tasty things to eat and drink.

You will find pottery, jewellery, glasswork, photography, visual art and sculpture, wood and other fibre work. And that's only the beginning.

Follow the signs to Hackett Park, located at Trail Avenue between Medusa Street and Dolphin Street.
