The gala evening consisting of local Elphinstone Secondary School students with a second half performance by the Sarah Loverock Band is gaining momentum.

The concert is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13. Coast Cable will tape the entire show for broadcast at a later date if you can't attend, but with a line-up such as the one Elphi has in store - you'd be crazy not to get a ticket.

Along with Loverock, performers include the Elphinstone jazz band, Skye Wallace, Stramash (Sophie Heppell, Graeme McGillivray and James Law) and Kings of Rock (Cody Stevens, Joel Miller-Tansley, David Williams and Kevin Hendricks).Elphinstone's audio tech class, a program focusing on live sound enhancement and digital recording, will provide the sound requirements for the evening.

"We are also lucky to have Patrick Tasci of Soundwërks working with us for the evening. He is one of the better sound technicians on the Coast and is the designer of our incredible audio system in the gym," said concert organizer, teacher Tom Daniels. "He will be taking the student performers through a process whereby they learn what a professional performer can expect and request from an audio crew, and he will use the opportunity to provide firsthand experience for the audio students for running a show of this quality. It will be a total learning experience for all involved, from performer to student technician."

Ticket prices are $6 for students and $10 for adults; children five and under are free. Tickets are now available at Talewind Books in Sechelt, the Roberts Creek General Store and Coast Books in Gibsons, and on Saturday afternoon in Sunnycrest Mall.
