It was a star-studded performance and a fundraiser for Sechelt Legion April 2 from the Sh-Boom male vocal quartet with guest stars: Jacquie Allan, Trudy Diening, Definitely Diva, accompanied by the incomparable Miles Black and his band: Sasha Faschert (guitar), Boyd Norman (bass) and John Tipping (drums).
Sh-Boom sang a variety of songs from jazz – Basin Street Blues – to classical – O Sole Mio – which brought cheers and applause from an appreciative audience. Jacquie Allan performed in a poised and professional manner in her lovely voice, singing in both French and English. Trudy Diening, with her soulful voice, treated the audience to a duet with Miles Black plus her favourite, Vincent. Definitely Diva kept the audience laughing with their antics while keeping perfect harmony.
The concert closed with Nikki Weber, musical impresario, mentor, performer (who just turned 89 in March) conducting the audience and performers in singing We Believe in Music.
