Ten-piece party dance band Soulstream will play Roberts Creek Hall on Jan. 18.
As a band Soulstream gets together to groove, create, and party. Their repertoire includes such groove masters as Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, Tower of Power, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Incognito, Stevie Wonder and Barry White.
With three Junos, one Grammy and five West Coast Musician of the Year nominations among them, this collective has become a Vancouver funk/soul/jazz staple. Described by one music critic as “Vancouver’s hottest house band,” they have their own approach to performing covers, which includes improvising not just in instrumental solos, but as a collective.
Playing with Soulstream are some of Vancouver’s best including: Rebecca Shoichet and Tim Fuller, vocals; Brad Turner, keyboards; JeanSe Le Doujet, bass; Raphael Geronimo, percussion; Randall Stoll, drums; Dave Corman, guitar; Karen Graves, sax; Bill Runge, bari sax; and Malcolm Aiken, trumpet.

Soulstream is presented by the Sunshine Coast Jazz and Entertainment Society to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Gibsons Landing Jazz Festival (set for June 19 to 21 this year).
