Peninsula Players and Pebbles Restaurant combine for the ninth time to provide an evening of fine dining and comic theatre with the presentation of Blithe Spirit, Noel Coward's classic farce of the fury of a woman scorned combined with "astral bigamy."

Blithe Spirit, directed by and starring John Keates, also features well-known actresses Llewellyn Keates, Deirdre Palmer and Jeanette Bernard. The cast is rounded out with Moira Scholz, Paul Bernard and Colleen Anderson. Keates plays author Charles Condomine, a widower, now remarried, who plans a séance as research for his new novel. The evening goes awry as the medium conjures up the wrong "ectoplasmic manifestation." In typical Coward fashion, things go from bad to worse before the surprise twist in the final act.

Once again, Pebbles Chef Max Pluess has created a five-course menu, this time featuring crab and shrimp cakes, beef tenderloin with garlic prawns and berry soufflé.

The dinner theatre runs for two weekends, Oct. 28 to 30 and Nov. 4 to 6. Tickets are $39 each and are available only from Pebbles. Telephone 604-885-5811 to reserve.
