Caravan World Rhythms presents what promises to be a fantastic concert experience on Saturday at the Raven's Cry Theatre in Sechelt. Bill Bourne and Eivør Pálsdóttir perform April 19 at 8 p.m. at the theatre.

Bourne is a multiple Juno award winner and is described as a "one man tour de force" who sings, plays guitar and writes with deep soul. A mainstay on the international roots scene, the decades on the road are reflected in Bourne's music - powerful rhythms and soulful songs, steeped in world beat, folk, flamenco, funk, blues and more. His iconic songs range from conscious ballads about brotherly love to creating a positive legacy for future generations.

Pálsdóttir is the Faroe Island's highest acclaimed singer and considered by many as one of the best musical artists in the whole Nordic Region. Her astonishing variety of vocal styles - from resonant operatic to clean folk to husky jazz - are all skillfully implemented with sublimely intense and honest personal musical expression. Only 25 years old, she has travelled around the world with her music, won several Icelandic music awards and released seven albums with a number of diverse collaborators, including Bourne. Most recently, she was nominated for five awards at the 2008 Danish Folk Music Awards.

Bourne's ability to write thoughtful and inspiring songs is legendary, and combined with Pálsdóttir's lilting and enigmatic voice, the result is magical and evocative.

Tickets are $22 in advance/$25 at the door, available at Gaia's Fair Trade, MELOmania and Ashley's Books.
