A six-piece band of young and incredibly talented musicians, their larger incarnation was the hit of the 2009 Jazz Festival - with three-part vocal harmony, swinging back up, tight arrangements and clever improvised solos. Audiences enjoyed their cheerful renditions of classic repertoire from the 1920s through 1940s (with a little bit of the '10s and a little bit of the '50s in there, too) including The Andrews Sisters, The Boswell Sisters, The Mills Brothers, The Sentimentalists, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and more.

Loaded with personality, the harmonies of the female vocal trio are well complemented by top-notch instrumentalists. The band makes it their mission to capture the style and the spirit of the music of the first half of the 20th century, but there is also an undeniable youth and freshness to their sound and their stage presence.

Since the band's inception in 2007, Company B has been featured at music venues and festivals all over British Columbia (including the Vancouver International Jazz Festival), as well as at the 2009 Sacramento Jazz Festival in California. They have been featured on CBC Radio Two's Canada Live series and CiTR's Sweet and Hot radio program, and seen on CBC TV and on CFJC's Midday Show.

Tickets are $20, available at Harbour Insurance, John Henry's Marina, the Sechelt Visitors Centre and Gaia's Fair Trade in Gibsons.
