The Jordao Photo-Graphic Studio Gallery is gearing up for an exciting weekend of boot-stompin' dancing and an exhilarating year of collaborations with local event producers.

The gallery, located at #2 - 626 Shaw Rd., is also negotiating monthly stylish lounge events with local and off-Coast producers and DJs.

Kicking off the 2011 series of events is the Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra (TMO) this Sunday and Monday, Jan. 16 and 17. Both concerts are 19-plus. Doors open at 8, music at 9 p.m.

TMO is taking the nation by storm. Now recognized as one of Western Canada's most exciting young folk bands, their name is on the breath of music lovers everywhere.

TMO constantly deliver their brand of all-acoustic, high energy Gypsy-ska-roots-grass to crowds from coast to coast. This spring will see the release of their third album, which will be recorded this winter while the band nestles in the snow-covered woods of Winlaw, B.C.

The photo exhibit on display in the Gallery is an eerie beauty of a collection called To the Bone by Raquel Fors. Framed prints are for sale. There will be pie and refreshments for sale as well. Proceeds from this event will go to the non-profit Society for the Preservation of Art, Culture and Environment (SPACE). Tickets for $10 are available at Gaia's Fair Trade in Gibsons and MELOmania in Roberts Creek.

For more information about the event and the Jordao PhotoGraphic Studio Gallery, contact Fors at 604-740-2380.
