The Coast Academy of Dance and Performing Arts recently presented four sold-out performances of the show Timeless Dance at the Raven's Cry Theatre in Sechelt. The enthusiastic audiences responded with standing ovations.

More than 300 students aged three to adult confidently took to the stage and enthralled those in attendance with their exhibitions in ballet and pointe, ballroom, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, modern theatre dance, street jam, song and dance, tap, partner work and acting.

The music and choreography were captivating, the costumes dazzling. The professional calibre of the show was evidence of the dedication, diligence and hard work of the staff and students, strongly supported by family, friends and the wonderful community.

It was fitting and memorable that the shows closed with 15 Grade 12 students parading onto the stage holding photo banners of themselves at a young age. Many, after years of studying dance, were dancing their final celebration with their teachers.

The overwhelming finale following the last performance was proof of the well-deserved sense of accomplishment and joy shared by all, following a fulfilling year of participation in dance and the performing arts.
