The acclaimed vocalist/pianist delivers a lively musical bouquet that stirs together original songs with much-loved interpretations from the popular songbook in an organic blend of rock, jazz, folk, Broadway, gospel and soul.

It's the integrity of Joni Mitchell and Ani DiFranco that Crowe looks to as models in building her own career. Courted by record labels as soon as she began performing beyond her home region of Nanaimo, Crowe has no interest in becoming what Mitchell so sagely calls the "style inventions" of today's mainstream music industry. Instead, she's created her own label, and, since 2003, has released five critically and commercially successful CD albums.

Joining Crowe on the Playhouse bill is Sunshine Coaster Skye Wallace. Beginning with professional voice training at the age of eight, Wallace developed her distinct vocal character, which continues to grow. By 15, she learned the guitar and delved into writing music, with a style that links back to her family's Celtic roots and intertwines with her favourite modern genres. A passionate young singer-songwriter with innate talent further nurtured through programs at Elphinstone Secondary School, Wallace now delights audiences at coffeehouses and festivals and as a new member of the Driftwood Players. Wallace's repertoire is almost entirely original songs, Pock-ets, Down Deep and Measure among these tunes. She'll occasionally include a cover song, her most recognized being a signature rendition of Bob Dylan's One More Cup of Coffee.

Advance tickets are $20 general/$15 students and seniors, available at Coast Books, Gaia's Fair Trade, Hallmark Cards, MELO-mania, Sechelt Visitors Info Centre, WindSong Gallery and Harbour Spirit. Tickets will be available at the door for $22 and $17.
