Chase away those winter blues

The robins have returned to the Coast and spring is in the air. But it wouldn't be spring without a visit from a perennial favourite. David Gogo once again brings his guitar brilliance to the Roberts Creek Hall on Saturday, March 28.

The robins have returned to the Coast and spring is in the air. But it wouldn't be spring without a visit from a perennial favourite.

David Gogo once again brings his guitar brilliance to the Roberts Creek Hall on Saturday, March 28. Fresh from a tour of Germany and Scandinavia in February, Gogo is set to entertain us with his intensity and passion before taking a short break from his rigorous touring schedule. In May he's off to the Hornby Island Blues Camp along with other fine roots and blues musicians to share his knowledge and inspiration with aspiring students.

Nanaimo-born Gogo began playing guitar at the age of five and started his blues career before finishing high school. Still a young man, he has an impressive list of accomplishments to his name, including three Juno nominations, being named Musician of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards, twice named Guitarist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards and the CBC Saturday Night Blues Great Canadian Blues Award for a lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada.

With nine albums under his belt and numerous guest appearances on other artists' recordings, not to mention extensive tours in Europe and North America, Gogo's winning brand of blues is appreciated worldwide.

Don't miss out on Gogo's blistering guitar licks and soulful vocals. Get your $20 tickets at WindSong Gallery in Sechelt, Gaia's Fair Trade Gifts in Gibsons or the Roberts Creek Health Food Store. Doors open at 8:30, and the blues-chasing begins at 9 p.m.
