Woodland wonderland at Children's Festival

The 12th annual Children's Festival and Duck Pluck will be presented on June 22 at Dougall Park in Gibsons.

The 12th annual Children's Festival and Duck Pluck will be presented on June 22 at Dougall Park in Gibsons.

This year's theme is Woodland Wonderland, featuring magical woodland creatures, an enchanted tea party with a 15-metre long table, arts and crafts, fun games and fantastic entertainment. The festival promises to deliver a memorable experience for all family members.

This year's roster of children's performers includes Sweet Cascadia, Sandy Buck, Graham Walker, magician Gerardo Avila, Driftwood Theatre, Pan Willson, Jennifer Norquist-Chancellor and a fun tent hosted by Tammy Hansen.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be an abundance of activities including pony rides, a petting zoo, marble gymnastics, a bounce castle, face painting and a great selection of delicious food and treats.

Entry cost is by donation. Purchase one of the famous Duck Pluck raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes. All proceeds go to Sunshine Coast Community Services' child development programs including Parent-Tot Drop-In and Bellies and Babies prenatal nutrition program.

The festival will be a zero-waste event.

Sunshine Coast Community Services Society is a non-profit organization offering residents from Earls Cove to Port Mellon a wide range of programs and services.
