You’re invited to the Sunshine Coast Streamkeepers’s first public event, Rain Gardens and Salmon.

We need to conserve water now more than ever. Come out to learn about rain gardens. How can installing a rain garden help storm water drainage? Where does all the “stormwater runoff” from roads and parking lots (impervious surfaces) go? How can rain gardens help salmon?

This is more important than ever after the research has been released from the University of Washington on a chemical that is being released from tires that is killing coho fry. There are so many locations in urban areas that a rain garden could be installed that would help salmon but also make our communities more beautiful.
