Trump cuts affect Grandmothers and Grand Others aid efforts

Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grand Others is asking for your help

Grandmothers’ Campaign was launched by Stephen Lewis Foundation over 20 years ago, in response to the AIDS/HIV epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa. We have been raising funds and creating awareness throughout this period. More than a quarter of a million dollars has been raised by our work in the Sunshine Coast community to support African families who are desperately in need.

The disruption of US AID by the Trump administration has created a crisis. The stop-work order and uncertainty of future funding is putting many of our partner organizations at significant risk. If this continues, gains made over the last 20 years will be lost.

Stephen Lewis has just issued an urgent message asking for all of us to respond. Please consider making a gift today.

Or send a cheque (Stephen Lewis Foundation) to our treasurer: Lynda Olsen, 1009 Fairview Road, Gibsons, V0N 1V3; telephone: 604-886-9381.

Our annual Easter bake sale will be held at Trail Bay Mall on Saturday April 19 and a children’s concert is planned for May. Funds raised at these events go to grassroots organizations in Africa. Please come out and support us!
