One Straw Society is excited to announce the seventh annual Edible Garden Tour to take place Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31.
There are great things in store for this year’s event! On Saturday, join the guided tours of small local farms and gardens focused in Sechelt, West Sechelt and Halfmoon Bay. Featured farms are Salish (?alish) community gardens, Ocean Vegetables community garden, Ruby’s Run Urban Farm, Gidora’s gardens, and Denise Lagasse’s garden (Sunshine Coast Seed Collective).
You can expect to see awesome growing techniques including urban farming practices, permaculture, seed saving and more. The great locations will host workshops, discussions, activities, treats and more!
A shuttle bus may be available – watch for updated information. A carpooling option will also be available.
On Sunday, July 31, there will be self-guided tours of other great locations all across the Sunshine Coast. Some farmers will be available to offer tours.
And please join the special Field to Feast celebration on Sunday, Aug. 7, which will include a bonus garden tour, talks, a market, farm fresh appetizers and live music at a special garden location in Halfmoon Bay!
