Tracy Parker, a Madeira Park resident, participated in an international adult skating competition in Ghent, Belgium, April 24 and placed first, winning the Kristal Cup, then continued practicing in a variety of towns and cities before she made her way to Oberstdorf, Germany, May 25, and skated a strong performance on her way to international gold at the ISU International Adult Competition.

Tracy, an adult skating member of the Sunshine Coast Skating Club, fought hard to clinch the gold medal spot out of 24 skaters from around the world in the Bronze III Category. This five-day International Skating Union competition draws enthusiastic and eager adult skaters aged 28 to 90+ from all over the world. Due to the pandemic, this competition has been postponed for two and a half years. This year’s event was a welcome return to this competition that is well attended by 25 ISU organizations worldwide. Some 300 skaters gave more than 450 performances this year.

Congratulations, Tracy!
