Jakob Helfer, a Grade 2 student at Kinnikinnick, won first prize in a local Remembrance Day poster contest put on by the Royal Canadian Legion.
The branch submitted his poster (pictured to the left of photo) to the Sunshine Coast Zone of the Royal Canadian Legion and he won first prize again.
After that, his poster was submitted to the BC/Yukon Command and out of 7,000 entries across B.C. and the Yukon, he won third place.
The Sechelt Legion presented him with a $100 cheque and a certificate at their AGM on Sunday, May 15.
