Pender Harbour Blues Society’s spring dance, tomorrow Saturday, April 6 with “Terminal Station” will showcase fantastic musicians performing great dance music. Get tickets online at www.phblues.ca or the EarthFair store where you can drop in or phone in at 604-883-9006. 

Skookcumchuck Heritage Society is having its AGM on Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m. at the Egmont Heritage Centre. 

The Pender Harbour Women’s Connection will host their second annual community update Tuesday, April 9. Speakers will be Sarah Johnston, chair of the Pender Harbour Rotary, Jim Cameron, chief of PH Volunteer Fire Department, Maurice Laycock, pharmacist at Marina Pharmacy and Nick Gaskin executive director of the PH Health Centre. Each speaker will have 15 minutes. Following a refreshment break there will be a brief question period. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the School of Music. Speakers present at 10 a.m. $4 drop in. 

School of Music Coffee House next Friday April 12 will be an evening of two musical treats, Sean Peters and Spindrift Street featuring Charlie Veaudry, Garth Oliver Bowen and Randy Shepherd. $10 suggested donation at the door. Delicious desserts provided by the Pender Harbour Choir will be available. 

Driftwood Players will bring the Lizzie Borden story alive, performing Blood Relations by Sharon Pollock April 13, 2 p.m. at the Hall. Did she do it? Tickets $25 at EarthFair store. Drop in or phone to reserve at 604-883-9006. 

The Annual Community Club Plant Sale April 27 at the Hall has the addition of a vintage market. Vendors, Jane Anderson and Bobbi of Granite Gardens, among others, will be selling vintage items (China, glassware, decor, furniture), a curated collection of unique pieces to suit any decor and items of interest to collectors too. Donations for the plant sale, white elephant tables, and of course volunteers are desired. Please contact Lesley for more information at 778-840-1692. 

There’s than a month left to file your 2023 income tax return. The Volunteer Tax Program can help if you are eligible. Three ways to file: walk in clinics at the community school, Mondays 9:30 a.m. to noon and the PH Health Centre Wednesdays 9 a.m. to noon, or drop off/pick up at the above locations and by appointment, phone Harry at 604-741-5132. 

Always a sellout: the annual Bargain Barn Mother’s Day Fashion Show, lunch and silent auction will be Sunday May 5, noon to 3 p.m. at the Legion. Tickets are on sale April 5 at the Barn and the Legion during operating hours. Don’t miss out! Buy your tickets today $35.
