Wednesday, May 4 was McHappy Day at McDonald’s restaurants across Canada. About 50 volunteers from different organizations around the Coast were at the Sechelt McDonald’s to serve up Big Macs and fries, including – but not all pictured – Sechelt councillor Doug Wright, Sechelt Chamber executive director Colleen Clark, paramedic Julie McLeister, retired constable Adrian DeJong, Sechelt Chamber president Kim Darwin, paramedics unit chief Scott Spain and paramedics assistant manager Tara Jackson.
Proceeds from McHappy Day go to Ronald McDonald House, which helps sick children and their families while they undergo treatment. More than 20,000 families across Canada are staying at a Ronald McDonald House.
