The Summer Market is on this Friday, July 14 and every Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Madeira Park gardens until September. Treat yourself and your visitors to treasures from our talented local growers, bakers and crafty creators.
This Saturday, July 15, the Egmont Community Club non-profit society will host their fabulous fundraising event, the ever popular Seafood Dinner. Starting off at 5 p.m. with cocktail hour, enjoy fresh handmade appetizers and cold refreshing drinks as you watch the final preparations for the feast. On the menu is a choice of two chowders, BBQ salmon, baked cod, grilled spot prawns and two salads.
The Pender Harbour Health Centre is open on Saturday mornings in the busy summer season to allow residents and visitors access to walk-in treatment from our nurses. This year the program will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays July 1 to Aug. 26. No booked appointments or laboratory service, and there will not be a physician on site.
The Harbour Gallery, a local gem, located steps from the Millennium Park, across from the School of Music has something for everyone: original paintings of all sizes, stained glass creations and cards. Support local artists with proceeds going towards the Ada Priest Memorial Scholarship awarded to a Pender Harbour student carrying on in Fine Arts. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Labour Day.
Seniors Initiative activities this week start with Tuesday walking exercises 10:30 to 11 a.m., and Wednesday carpet bowling 1 to 3 p.m. On Thursday, Harbourside Friendship welcomes Brenda Rowe speaking on Home Support and Beyond, Defining Long Term Care starting at 10:30 a.m. Lunch is served at noon, drop in $10. Friday chair yoga with Carol Lotenberg is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. All activities are at the Community Hall.
