Take a bus trip with the Seniors Initiative Group on Tuesday, Aug. 2. Enjoy a stroll on Sechelt’s seaside boardwalk followed by lunch and shopping. The bus departs from the Pender Harbour Community Hall at 10 a.m. returning approximately 3 p.m. Cost is $10 plus lunch. Wednesday, Aug. 3 come carpet bowling from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hall. Drop in is just $3. Harbourside Friendship on Thursday, Aug. 4 starts at 10:30 a.m. featuring a bocce tournament. Lunch is served at noon for $10.
Sunday Aug. 7 is the date for the Rotary Club of Pender Harbour Annual Show ‘n’ Shine. This exciting day will begin the Rod Run starting from Sechelt arriving at Highway 101 and Francis Peninsula Road at approximately 10 a.m. Cars will travel down to Lagoon Road, then Madeira Park Road and on to the final destination at the Royal Canadian Legion. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the parade of outstanding autos along these streets.
At noon the Show ‘n’ Shine opens to all spectators beside the Legion. There will be fabulous cars, free hot dogs for kids, special food deals and music in the Legion. Shop the vendors’ village full of interesting finds. See penderharbour.ca for all the details and maps.
