Pender Harbour Days are here!

Friday Madeira Market is on from 10 a.m. Friday, July 8 at the Community Gardens. Find delicious pies, breads, fresh produce, preserves, jewelry, handcrafted treasures and pet treats at the BCSPCA table. All vendors are welcome; tables are $10.

Pender Harbour Days Coffee House is also Friday, July 8 – a special evening of excellent entertainment will welcome to the stage an all star, all local line up of professional musicians. Performing will be Katrina Bishop, Kenneth Norman Johnson, Sully and Simon, and Keiran Semple. Coffee and goodies will be sold; $10 donation at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; music begins at 8 p.m.

Rain or shine, please join in the festivities July 8 to 10 at Pender Harbour Days, fun-filled activities for the entire family at Madeira Park marina and area. Come view the ocean floor with hard hat divers on a big screen TV, watch the classic boat parade featuring the P.H. Pipe and Drum Band, public viewing of classic boats, Music Society extravaganza, pony rides, petting zoo, kids’ wooden boat building, face painting, art activities, kids’ fishing derby, Lagoon Society and Living Heritage displays, yoga, rent a paddleboard or kayak, oyster shucking contest, wood-chopping contest, Legion dine and dance, pancake breakfast, historical talks by Anne Clemence, Jim Cameron and Barrie Farrell, Com-munity Organizations Showcase at the School of Music, guided hikes, vendors, food and much more, with a close-out featuring Hugs ukulele band. Join in the biggest and best 50/50 draw ever in the history of Pender Harbour plus other great prizes including the classic cedar strip canoe raffle draw. Watch out for our mighty pirates Eliza and Bobbi as they weave through the crowds with their treasure chest. Come out and join in the fun; you may be one of the lucky winners.

Saturday, July 9 come to the Community Organizations Showcase from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the School of Music. Drop in and learn about the programs of more than 30 organizations in the Pender Harbour and Egmont area, from enticing exercise opportunities to vibrant volunteer activities and beyond. Find out more about the amazing array of community groups making a difference in our community. There will be fantastic door prizes donated by these groups, so come visit and win something.

Sunday show your P.H. Days button at the pro shop and play all day twilight at the P.H. Golf Club. Play as much as you want anytime of the day for just $20, less than half the regular daily rate. The offer is for golf only; carts are extra, and times are subject to availability at the pro-shop. All applicable taxes are extra.

Sunday, July 10 there will be a Ukulele Hootenanny at the P. H. Community Hall. Songs will have only three chords each. All levels of players are welcome. If you don’t play, come and sing, 2:45 to 4:45 p.m., $6 at the door for players, $3 for singers. Music and chords will be provided. No need to bring music stands. Seniors Initiative has great activities planned for this coming week. Join the walking group Tuesday, July 12, 10:30 a.m. in front of the P.H. Hall. Carpet bowling is 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Hall. Drop in for just $3. Harbourside Friendships will be cruising on a Slo-Cat Tour 1 to 2:30 p.m. for $20. Book now with Marlene at 604-883-9900.
