Halfmoon Bay travel writer Judi Lees has written a novel, Lester’s Gift, now available at EarthFair Books. Lees, local tennis player and journalist who has been a travel writer for more than 25 years, intermingles exotic destinations and intrigue in her locally set book.
Next Saturday, June 4 is Egmont Day, starting at 9 a.m. with the kids’ 12 and under fishing derby followed by the big parade, party ponies, petting zoo, tug-of-war, field races, and barbecue lunch. All the activities are free. In the evening there is dinner with singer-songwriter Chelsea Charlton and an all-ages dance.
Pender Harbour Reading Centre continues celebrating 50 years of books in the Harbour with their gala dinner on Wednesday, June 22 at 5 p.m. at the School of Music. This fabulous evening will start with a musical interlude by Knotty Dotters followed by a salmon barbecue dinner at 6 p.m. Guest speaker will be David Lee, author of Chainsaws, a History and Commander Zero.
