Don Cunliffe, chair of the fundraising committee for Halfmoon Bay Community Association, has this update on Coopers Green Hall replacement: “We are progressing on our fundraising goal of $300,000 by 2018. Contributions large and small are helping make the goal a reality. To date, over $200,000 has been raised, including several generous donations from residents of Halfmoon Bay.”
In June a task force made up of residents of Halfmoon Bay and the shíshálh Nation was appointed and the firm of Principle Architecture was hired by the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) to prepare a design for the new hall. Four members of the task force, of eight, are members of the Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA). The task force will use community input on the hall design priorities gathered from recent open houses and surveys. In addition to the hall design, archaeological and geotechnical reviews are underway.
All contributions are welcome. Donations over $100 will receive a tax receipt on cheques made out to the SCRD. If you have questions or to donate, contact Cunliffe at [email protected]
