Each year Halfmoon Bay Community Association presents a bursary to one of Halfmoon Bay’s students who is furthering their education after secondary school. This year’s recipient of the 2016 bursary, given in remembrance of Carlo Velcic, was Chatelech Secondary student Colleen Imbeau.
The good people of Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary, Halfmoon Bay Branch are on a well-deserved summer break, and there will be no meeting in August.
A big thank you to all who supported their Pancake Breakfast at the HMB Country Fair. The Auxiliary raised $1,400 to add to the St. Mary’s Hospital Fund. They truly appreciate all the support.
Oct. 22 and 23 is Apple Festival weekend. Apples are ripening now, so if you have any to share with the big copper kettle, they will be put to good use. Also on the want list is cured maple firewood that goes under the big kettle. Bring apples and maple firewood to the back door of Dolphin Physio and Fitness, #102 - 5711 Mermaid St., Sechelt, or call Katie at 604-885-2969 to arrange for pickup.
Applefest weekend also has the Boogie, Brats and Beer dance at Coopers Green, on the Saturday.
