Roberts Creek

This Saturday, July 22, the Daniel Kingsbury Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is on from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Daniel loved to play basketball and raise money for the environmental and educational society he co-founded: The Jellyfish Project. If you don’t play basketball, don’t worry – there will be good eats, good tunes and good company to keep you entertained. Everyone welcome.

Also this Saturday at Henderson Beach in Roberts Creek, a group will be holding the Peanut Butter Jam Food Bank Benefit, with music by Slightly Twisted and guests, classic rock ‘n’ roll and originals, starting at 1 p.m.  Cash donations and peanut butter gratefully accepted for the food bank.

At 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, enjoy Noah’s Great Rainbow at the inaugural CreekStock Party, only at the Roberts Creek Legion.

Sunday, July 23, is also another busy day with the Day Out of Time Manna Festival, starting with an honouring ceremony at noon followed by musicians, DJs, artisans and food booths until dusk. Come dance on the newly painted mandala at the pier in Roberts Creek.

This week’s concert at Slow Sundays features KGB: Kevin Crofton, lead vocals/guitar; Graham Walker, percussion; and Budge Schachte, lead guitar/bass, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Enjoy an eclectic afternoon: Market and more from noon to 4 p.m. Bring a chair and a sun hat. There’s plenty of parking at the Legion off Largo.

A Roberts Creek Sunday sunset guitar concert hosted by Jamie Bowers is also happening on July 23. End the week with Jamie in this magical setting surrounded by the waters of the Georgia Strait – natural  beauty and beautiful guitar music, 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Roberts Creek pier.

Creek Daze is coming up on Saturday, Aug. 12.  There’s still space for vendors – first come, first served, so register early at [email protected]
