The annual Backcountry Trash Bash (SCRD event), which rotates around the Sunshine Coast, is happening this year in Roberts Creek. This event provides an opportunity for the community to take an organized approach to ridding our treasured backcountry of items that have been dumped illegally. This year the event will start off from Roberts Creek School Gym on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. Bring your truck, gloves and friends; lunch will be provided. School is back in session and according to data compiled by Speed Watch volunteers, the road in front of Roberts Creek Elementary School has the highest incidence of speeding. It’s a 30 km/hr zone, so please slow down.
Roberts Creek General Store hours are now back to fall times: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The 6th Roberts Creek Scout Group begins programs this Tuesday, Sept. 20 for Beavers (5:15 to 6:30 p.m.) and Cubs (6 to 7:30 p.m.) and for Sea Scouts on Wednesday, Sept. 21 (6 to 8 p.m.). Coming soon is a Howdy Neighbour Fall Community Potluck for newcomers – and old comers, too! The date is Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Roberts Creek Hall starting at 5 p.m. Watch for more details.
