Last Sunday was definitely a Slow Sunday with the weather change and all, but still quite a crowd assembled to hear the Billy Hillpickers strut some very lively music. Slow Sundays continue through September, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with artisans, food, and live music (from 2:30 to 4 p.m.) – only in the Creek.
The Library, after a fantastic library sale at Creek Daze, still has a great selection of books to offer at their monthly sale which happens this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come on down and pick some fall reading material; there’s something for everyone in the whole family.
The Marwills are having an Interplanetary Labour Day Saturday Party, and you are invited, at the Roberts Creek Legion on Sept. 3, starting at 9 p.m. Tickets for members are $10, non-members $15, available at the door.
School begins on Tuesday, Sept. 6, so watch for children excitedly returning to the ABCs. Slow down, please.
The Roberts Creek Scout Group will be holding a registration party at the Trail Bay Mall on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration opens for Beaver Scouts (5-7), Cub Scouts (8-10) and Sea Scouts (11-14). All groups are co-ed. Regular meetings will begin for Beavers and Cubs on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and for Sea Scouts on Sept. 21, with a great new program with lots of outdoor focus and a new badge program for Beavers to Sea Scouts. The fifth annual Backroad Trash Bash is Saturday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a community clean up in the Roberts Creek area that you will not want to miss.
