Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grand Others is hosting an art sale, auction fundraiser at Rockwood Lodge, Sechelt, Saturday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An extensive collection of art—donated by local artists and from the private collections of Coast residents—will be on display and available for sale. Most of the art will be sold by silent auction. The grannies’ renowned marmalade, jam, and home baking will also be available. To round out the day, the kitchen will be offering a delightful soup and charcuterie lunch to enjoy in the dining room or out on the covered veranda.
Everything undertaken by the Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grand Others supports grandmothers and families in sub-Saharan Africa who have been disproportionately impacted by the AIDS/HIV epidemic. The Stephen Lewis Foundation launched the Grandmothers’ campaign 20 years ago to raise awareness and vital support for these communities. Their motto is: We won’t rest until they can rest.
All are welcome to join in this delightful day of fine art, fundraising for a worthy cause, and great food offered in a wonderful setting. To preview the art that will be for sale, go to shorturl.at/0t7QK.
