The Sechelt Farmers' and Artisans' Market celebrates its 20th anniversary next Saturday, June 29.

There will be special guests, cake, music, face painting and a special photo opportunity for visitors.

The anniversary celebration has a number of supporters including Corin and Brian Mullins from Holy Crap who gave a donation for event expenses. Claytons has generously donated a huge slab cake, and Sechelt Signs has created and donated a cut-out farmer so kids and adults can pretend to be the farmer and have their photo taken. In addition, the Sunshine Coast Credit Union gave a donation earlier this year so the Market could improve signs around town making it easier to find them on Cowrie Street near the library.

As part of the festivities, each of the vendors has been asked to wear some sort of hat - silly, outrageous and fun. The Market organizers welcome visitors to join in the fun and wear their most outrageous hat, too. If you are feeling creative, decorate your hat and make it unique.

Market hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and speeches and cake will be happening at around noon. Face-painting will be free at the Market tent from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., music will be happening throughout the day, as will the chance to have your photo taken with the cut-out farmer. There will also be a draw for a basket made up of items donated by vendors.
