Epic stories to tell

As Isak Dinesensaid: "To be a person is to have a story to tell. We all have stories, and though our experiences may be different, we all share the same emotions.

Sunshine Toastmasters hosted its inaugural epic storytelling event on Monday, May 27, at the Greencourt Hall in Sechelt. A great crowd turned out to hear 15 gifted storytellers tell tales of love, fear, excitement, betrayal, revenge and hilarity. Special guest storytellers included recent graduates of the Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program, Meaghan Howley, Bridget Gong Graham, Jared Jankola and Jillian Olafson.

Thanks to Claytons and Madeira Park IGA for donations of goodies enjoyed by all. Sunshine Toastmasters is the place to learn how to develop your storytelling abilities, which help in every walk of life. They meet every Monday night from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre. Ages 18 and up are welcome and we love guests.
