The xwesam-Roberts Creek Community Association (xRCCA) has been fortunate to have a handful of dedicated volunteers who selflessly contribute their time and expertise. Among these individuals, Kathleen Hudson and her husband Joe have been integral to the success of both the xwesam-Roberts Creek Hall and the Roberts Creek Library for many years. As Kathleen steps down from her long-time role as bookkeeper, we reflect on the countless ways in which her conscientiousness and unwavering commitment have shaped the Creek community.
Kathleen’s involvement in the xRCCA dates back to 1995 when she first began volunteering at the library. She served as chair of the library in the late ‘90s. By around 2005, Kathleen began her role as treasurer, a position she held for many years with diligence and dedication.
Kathleen was also a valued member of the xRCCA Board, serving as treasurer from 2013 to 2020, providing financial guidance and ensuring that the association was well-managed. Since then, Kathleen has managed our financial records with precision and care. Her work has been vital in ensuring the smooth operation of both the Hall and the Library, and she plays an instrumental role in organizing the annual Christmas Craft Fair. Her meticulous approach helped the xRCCA remain financially stable and effective in serving the Creek community.
Kathleen has true volunteer spirit, dedicating endless hours and giving her time and energy. Her contribution to the organization has been nothing short of extraordinary, and her retirement marks the end of an era for the xRCCA.
We are deeply grateful for Kathleen’s many years of hard work, her attention to detail, and her passionate support of all things Roberts Creek. While we will certainly miss her expertise, we understand that this is a well-deserved step for someone who has given so much. We are also immensely appreciative of her husband Joe's assistance over the years, picking up the mail every day from the Roberts Creek Hall without fail.
On behalf of the entire xwesam-Roberts Creek Community Association Board, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
