On the Sunshine Coast, School District No. 46, recreation, sports and other organizations have been working to provide more and more positive opportunities for youth, yet there are still gaps that exist and many kids miss out or do not get involved in those positive opportunities.

Recently, a small committee has been formed to establish Young Life on the Sunshine Coast, with the goal of reaching out to youth within those gaps.

Young Life is a Christian outreach with the aim of building relationships with teenagers and introducing them to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Young Life leaders are committed spending time hanging out with kids in their world, being a friend and a positive influence in their lives.

If anyone is interested in learning more about Young Life, there will be an information evening tonight (Friday) May 4 at 7 p.m. at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden at 5041 Mason Road in Sechelt. Please RSVP to [email protected] or call 604-740-0266 and for more information go to Young Life Sunshine Coast on Facebook or www.younglife.ca.
