Capilano University’s Sunshine Coast Campus faculty and staff invite the community to a free workshop honouring Truth and Reconciliation Week on Sept. 23 starting at 1 p.m.
Jamie Dixon (shíshálh name mus-swiya), an elder with the Sechelt Nation, will be teaching some key phrases in the Sechelt Nation language. There will also be an opportunity to watch some video material that documents the stories of residential school survivors.
The event is one of several that will be offered by Capilano University and the only one that will happen at the Sunshine Coast campus. Instructors are building their classes around it so that everyone can participate.
