This Saturday (Jan. 22), the Sechelt Public Library is introducing its newest collection -Living Books - members of our community who have interesting stories to tell, skills to share and information about wonderful adventures.

Do you think it is time you got the family memorabilia in some kind of order? Want to know a bit about how an archives is created, what our Sechelt archives contains? Book a conversation with Ann Watson.

Pull up a chair. Listen to stories of long wintery days and boat trips up the Dease River and quests for gold. Bill Elsner will tell you about the ultimate in early retirement -life in northern British Columbia bush.

Winter rains are arriving -along with the storms -are you prepared for emergencies? Emergency co-ordinator Bill Elsner will, as a Living Book, talk to you about effective personal preparedness and what you need to know about self sufficiency and emergency kits.

The library has other local experts ready to talk to you about wild mushroom hunting, how to purchase binoculars and telescopes, the joys and pitfalls of travelling the world, personal safety and security planning and many other topics.

So if you want to talk to a good book, plan to participate in the library's Living Library Event this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Choose a book from the Living Library catalogue, and make a donation to the Endowment for Early Literacy.

Pre-registration is essential, so drop in to the library and register now.
