These dinners are part of A Dare to Remember, a nationwide fundraising week organized by the SLF.

In Sechelt, the Sunshine Coast Grandmothers & GrandOthers will host a community dinner in support of the African grandmothers and the orphaned children in their care.

Chili-Rama for the Grandmas will bring neighbours together over a great home-made meal (your choice of spicy, mild or vegetarian chilli, a variety of breads, salads and desserts) to make a difference in the lives of these courageous grandmothers and children. Canada World Youth participants from South Africa, Canada and Kenya will be present. Admission is by donation and all donations more than $20 will receive a tax receipt from the SLF.

The dinner is at 6 p.m., doors at 5:45 on Saturday, Oct. 24 at St. Hilda's Church hall in Sechelt.
