What better way to start the holiday season than with carols and a light show?

On Sunday, Dec. 5, the 23rd annual Light the Lights takes place at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt starting at 5 p.m.

Light the Lights started out in the old North Wing which is no longer there, then moved into the Festival Pavilion and was packed to the rafters with entertainers and community.

This year the format is changing. There will be carolling for the community in the garden from 5 to 5:30 p.m., led by Reg and Lynne Dickson, the Music Makers Choirs and Arbutus Sounds Chorus. The carols that are being sung will be in Coast Reporter's carol book coming out on Dec. 3.

At 5:30 p.m., the lights will go on in the garden followed by a parade of lights passing by the Rockwood, hosted by the Coasters Car Club. Many business owners will be decking out their large vehicles with decorations and lights. The last truck in the parade will have a special guest who will disembark at the Rockwood to visit with the children.
