As part of Family Literacy Week celebrations, the Sechelt Public Library is hosting a their annual birthday party for all babies born in 2010. Babies and their families are invited to take part in the festivities on Saturday Jan. 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The celebration will include stories, songs, refreshments and prizes as well as a special visit with representatives from the StrongStart and SPARK programs and the Children Care Resource and Referral Program.
The development of literacy, like all language development, begins at birth. Encouraging children and their parents to share stories, songs and fingerplays through programs offered at the Sechelt Public Library such as Time for Tots, SPARK, KinderSPARK and StrongStart all provide positive enriching experiences for everyone!
