Kisses & Kicks: Kicks to five month AirBnb rentals, kisses to Kitchensink Sanctuary

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of Oct. 27!

75 Gold Star kisses to Gibsons London Drugs for their generous donation to allow NLCC Kenneth Grant to purchase 210 Christmas cards to send to the crew of a deployed ship.

Kisses to Sue O and her wee elves who braved the rain to deliver hot and delicious turkey dinners to so many grateful recipients. Mmmwah!

Heartfelt kisses to Cathy who diligently picks up garbage on her early morning walks on Chaster Beach.

Kisses to Peter Kvarnstrom on behalf of all your Coast Reporter readers! We are so proud that you and your positive work have been recognized and that you have been named in Champions, a new book of Canada’s champions for news.

To the volunteer who put on the free Thanksgiving dinner at the seniors centre, a big thank you. Me and my friends had a wonderful time. Again, thank you and God bless. – Grateful participants from Greenecourt.

Kicks and honks back at all the people that run the three stop lines painted in the north parking entrance of Gibsons Park Plaza, up by the Dollar Tree. There are three stop lines there.

Kicks to the pranksters who filled our crab trap with empty beer cans and bottles. Don’t worry, we still got lots of crabs.

Shameful kicks to those throwing late night parties then allowing guests to drive home impaired. Adults should act like adults. Keep the Sunshine Coast safe from impaired drivers.

Boxes of kisses to Brian at Artisan Way for offering his van, saving a fellow vendor a trip back to Vancouver.

Kicks to all of the greedy homeowners trying to fill the “greed gap” of their Airbnb with five month rentals.

Kicks to my neighbour who keeps her lights on all night…every night. What used to be a peaceful area is now polluted with your bad attitude and bright lights.

Thank you to Kitchensink Sanctuary for showing so many beautiful animals a life full of love and free from violence.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
