This week Heritage Playhouse installed the first group of LED lights in phase one of the theatre’s lighting upgrade.

“We are ecstatic about the new lighting possibilities for dance and theatrical groups at the playhouse,” said Ingeborg Hardman, president of Gibsons Landing Heritage Society.

Thanks to the community of donors and supporters, the Sunshine Coast Community Forest Legacy Fund grant, Smitty’s Oyster House Shuckfest 2018, and sponsorship funds raised at 2018 Tim Hortons, Wendy’s Festival of Lights, the Playhouse raised over $30,000 for LED lighting upgrades last year. The goal is to replace 75 per cent of the old-style theatre lighting with LED lights.

These improvements will modernize the community theatre, providing the ability to continue to “nurture community artistry.”
