This queen-sized quilt, crafted by members of the Sunshine Coast Quilters Guild, will be raffled off in the coming months. Look for it on display in Sechelt and Gibsons. See scquiltersguild.com for more details.

The Sunshine Coast Quilters Guild raffle quilt project was taken on by the satellite group Gone to Pieces. All but one of the 20 fabrics required for the quilt were bought on the Coast. The bargello pattern, Argyle by Eileen Wright, was chosen, and Christine Richardson at Fibre Expressions cut the strips on the AccuQuilt machine. Work parties were organized and the sewing began. The backing is a pieced work started by the group and completed by Bev Butchard. When both pieces were completed, the quilting was done by Tess Strauss of Wildflower Quilting Studio of Wilson Creek.

This queen-sized raffle quilt will be on display in the Sechelt and Gibsons areas. Tickets are $2 each and the proceeds from this quilt are kept in the community to promote quilting and quilting arts, which includes making and distributing charity quilts to those in need.

The Quilters Guild is looking forward to its bi-annual Quilt Show (29 years on the Coast) entitled Spring on the Coast on May 10 and 11 at the Gibsons Ice Arena, 700 Park Road.
