This year the Chatelech Interact Club has donated $2,400 to local and international causes, raising the funds through various forms of community involvement. These included holding school dances for the Grade 6 and 7 students, running the hot lunch program for Chatelech Secondary on a Friday, as well as selling chips at the school during lunch.

The club donated some of this money to the local Habitat for Humanity as well as the Sunshine Coast Food Bank. For its international causes the club sponsored a child from Kenya and donated to a charity in India that helps provide work for women living in high levels of poverty. The club also donated to End Polio Now as well as stoves for AMA.

“This was a successful year in our fundraising endeavours and next year we plan to continue the success forward,” the club said in its year-end review. “Thank you to everyone who helped us make this possible; we look forward to interacting with you next year.”
