Please take the time to sort your donations to the thrift store and bring only those items that can be offered for sale.

The Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary Thrift Store generates about $450,000 a year which is donated to support the Sechelt Hospital and other healthcare services on the Sunshine Coast. It is entirely staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers who yearly work an average of 33,000 hours sorting and displaying goods and staffing the store.

The thrift store relies on the generosity of the Coast community to donate gently used clothing and small household items to sell at great prices, an excellent way to assist families and individuals and to recycle unneeded items.

However, volunteers are overwhelmed by the volume of donations. Unfortunately, some of the donated items are unsaleable but still have to be sorted. Too often over this summer, the ‘No Donations’ sign has been put out due to limited space. This is frustrating to the community and stressful for volunteers when people arrive with donations only to be turned away.

Please take the time to sort your donations and bring only those items that can be offered for sale.
