The first Book Faire of the 2020 season was held last month at the Sechelt Public Library and was marked with a bang and a birthday. The bang consisted of all the customers and donors who were lined up outside the library before the event began. At last the deprivation of the past few months would be sated! Around 1 p.m. on the Friday a huge birthday cake appeared and voices rang out singing “Happy 90th Birthday” to Elise Buque, one of the Book Faire’s founding Friends. Then everyone dug in and a good time was had by all. The next Book Faire is March 6 to 8. While it may not have a cake it will have a fabulous selections of books for all ages.
