Pender Harbour & Egmont: So much music in the Harbour

Madeira Market got off to a great start and will be welcoming you to come shop and visit each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Gardens. Huckleberry Pottery, Steel Loves Oils, Young Living, Beads and Bouquets, and Blaks Botanicals are some of the fine vendors this weekend. 

The hardworking volunteers of The Bargain Barn have packed up their pop up at The Hall and moved down the street to The Legion. Operating hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays noon to 3 p.m. Donations are accepted at The Bargain Barn location Wednesdays only. You will be asked to sort your donations into specific bins. 

The Reading Centre has reopened Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with changes abiding by COVID mandates. Visit their website for details. 

The Harbour Gallery has a splendid show of new masterpieces from our outstanding local artists. 

The Sunshine Coast’s famous and fabulous Joe Stanton is performing on The Patio at The Clubhouse 2 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, July 12. Come enjoy a special afternoon of fine music, food, and the warm hospitality of The Clubhouse family. 

Joe Stanton will now be the music man each Thursday at John Henry’s, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. through Labour Day. 

Harbourside Friendship, Thursday, July 16 will also have a music man in the house: Texada’s Skinny Jimmy will be spinning stories and singing songs starting at 10:30 a.m. Bring a chair and lunch for a good time behind the PH Hall. 

Sad news that the rescheduled Pender Har-bour Blues Festival planned for September has been postponed until next year. Marilyn MacLeod, Grand Dame of the Blues, did more than double the work. We so appreciate you! 

So good that so much music is happening in the Harbour. Go out and support our entertainers and independent venues! The hosts and their staff are putting so much effort to provide great times for all to enjoy. 

You will want to plan for this one. Gunboat Bay Blues, The Dock Project, Saturday, July 18. Host Ken Mellquist will proudly present a waterfront concert with the Peter Van Deursen Trio. The fine trio will perform on Ken’s dock rain or shine, on the north side of Gunboat Bay from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tide times are perfect. Arrive early. Anchor and motors off by showtime. No rafting.
