Pender Harbour: Coffee house this Friday

This Friday, Feb. 8, the Pender Harbour Music Society Coffee House welcomes to the stage of the School of Music Matt Richards, singer, songwriter and guitarist from Earl’s Cove; Kenneth Norman Johnson, pianist, composer; and Patricia Burnett, voice and keyboard performing a Carole King set. Doors open at 7 p.m., music at 7:30 p.m. Delicious desserts, coffee and tea available. 

Join the Women’s Connection Tuesday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m. at the School of Music when they celebrate reaching the milestone of their 20th anniversary. There will be music, activities, prizes, a necklace raffle and special treats. In addition, photos of past events will be on display. See if you can spot yourself or a friend. This promises to be a wonderful event and Women’s Connection welcomes everyone.

The Pender Harbour Community School will host a RRSP and TFSA information session Wednesday, Feb. 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Learn the advantages and benefits of these investment options from Linda Cordell of the Sunshine Coast Credit union. $10 donation. 

Come to a Valentine’s Day Party, Thursday, Feb. 14 with Harbourside Friendship starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Hall. Lunch will be served at noon. Drop in $10. Remember to send your special seniors a Valentine! 

Pender Harbour Community Club Thursday Night Bingo is back, starting Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Hall. Early Bird draw is 6:30 p.m., and 50 call has a $740 dollar jackpot. Players are needed to continue the success of Thursday Night Bingo. Thank you to all the players from Pender Harbour, Sechelt and Gibsons. Welcome back! 

Just announced! The Pender Harbour Blues Society will be kicking off their 2019 season with a dance party featuring Vancouver’s finest party band, Brickhouse. Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 16 and shine up your dancing shoes. Doors open at 8 p.m. at the PH Community Hall. Tickets available now at Java Docks, Strait Music and online at www.penderblues.ca. Come out and shake off those winter blues. This event is a fundraiser for the 16th annual Blues Festival coming up June 7 to 9. Check out the PH Blues Society Facebook page for a sneak preview.
