Because of Broom Busters’ heroic efforts in past years, the Scotch broom popping up along Redrooffs Road and in Welcome Woods is greatly reduced. Regrowth is sparse, except for one Welcome Woods street, so they will only require one day this year to keep it under control. That day will be Wednesday, May 22. Please come out and help if you can. Meet at 9 a.m. at Coopers Green Park for maps and assignments and/or meet Mary Beth at 1 p.m. at Welcome Woods Store if you prefer to do an afternoon shift. Calling all chefs! The Halfmoon Bay School PAC is getting ready for their Western Themed School Carnival on Thursday, May 23, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with proceeds going to the PAC. If you make a mean pot of chili, consider entering their HMB Chili Challenge. You could be named HMB Chili Champion and have your name put on the Chili Cup.
