Halfmoon Bay: Shari Ulrich concert sold out

The Halfmoon Bay Country Fair planning has started. Every assistance will be appreciated, whether you would like to help on the day, July 14, or could organize vendors or advertising, we would love your support and you can earn one of our keepsake designer T-shirts: Halfmoon Bay Fair 2019. Contact halfmoonbayfair@gmail.com.

Because of Broom Busters’ heroic efforts in past years, the Scotch broom popping up along Redrooffs Road and in Welcome Woods is greatly reduced. Regrowth is sparse, except for one Welcome Woods street, so they will only require one day this year to keep it under control. That day will be Wednesday, May 22. Please come out and help if you can. Meet at 9 a.m. at Coopers Green Park for maps and assignments and/or meet Mary Beth at 1 p.m. at Welcome Woods Store if you prefer to do an afternoon shift. Bring loppers, gloves, sunscreen and sunhats. For more information contact MaryBeth at 604-741-9846.

Calling all chefs! The Halfmoon Bay School PAC is getting ready for their Western Themed School Carnival on Thursday, May 23, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with proceeds going to the PAC. If you make a mean pot of chili, consider entering their HMB Chili Challenge. You could be named HMB Chili Champion and have your name put on the Chili Cup. Carnival attendees will be voting along with our panel of HMB celebrity judges. Email Wendy for more information at wwhite@sd46.

Celebrated music performer Shari Ulrich will be playing to a full house at Coopers Green. The May 25 concert is now sold out. If you have tickets and cannot attend, please contact teknight@telus.net.

To have your say at the Bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at teknight@telus.net or 604-885-5034.
